No Good Deed Goes Unpunished



A defeated wail can weaken even the coldest heart. Those with too much compassion can find themselves in untenable situations, in which their propensity for mercy can lead to a violent repercussion of correction. An attempt at inculcation fails to dissuade the selfless, and a price must be paid. Luckily, some people never learn.
